Have a look at the great efforts made by our wonderful Heritage Clubs

Bhavan's S L Public School, Amritsar

Bhavan’s SL Public School organized programmes during all major Indian festivals including Diwali, Holi, Dussehra, Eid, Gurupurab, Christmas, etc. Students and teachers participated enthusiastically in the celebrations. Matri Puja was also organized in the school and on this occasion ration was distributed to widows. To acquaint the students with moral values and the value of heritage, specific programmes were organized, for example, Sanskriti Darpan and Cultural Fiesta. Poster making, essay writing, painting, calligraphy, debate, and quiz competitions were organized on a regular basis. World Earth Day, World Environment Day, Human Rights Day, International Labour Day, and Gandhi Jayanti, were also celebrated with pomp and gaiety. Students also participated in heritage walks on a regular basis.

Mother's Public School, Bhubaneshwar

Mother’s Public School organized a rally for the protection of the Konark Temple on 4th January 2010. The exercise involved listing down the problems including the accumulation of rain water and conservation. An oath taking ceremony was also organized in the school during which an oath for the preservation of heritage sites was taken. On 5th July a Tree Plantation Drive was organized on the occasion of Van Mahotsav. Many native trees of India were planted within the school precints, for example, Mango; Tulsi; Banyan; Peepal; Neem; etc. Steps were also taken in the month of October to clean a heritage site. Seeing the condition of the temples in the city students of the Heritage Club decided to clean the temples. In the month of November a rally was organized for the protection of heritage. In December a painting competition was organized with the theme 'Saving Heritage.'

Ecole Mondiale World School, Mumbai

Heritage expeditions were organized by the school. The first one was organized to the Mt. Mary Basilica. This basilica is extremely famous in Mumbai. A huge fair is organized in September to celebrate the birthday of Mother Mary. The Portuguese influence on architecture was noticed by the students of the Heritage Club. A special assembly was organized on the occasion of World Mother Language Day. This was organized to spread awareness about the extinction of languages. The assembly ended with an intense debate about whether it is better to learn and preserve your Mother Tongue or the universal language, English. Students were also taken to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park for a school expedition. Yet another expedition was organized to the Kanheri Caves. Ms. Anita Rane from ASI was the guide. The students learnt about the history of cave architecture, inscriptions found the caves, archaeological remains, etc. A trip was also organized to the Mahakali Caves where a group of Buddhist Caves were built by monks in ancient times.
