                                                            To commemorate the world heritage Day, (18 april) iNTaCh
                                                            heCs Division and  archaeological  survey of  india (asi)
                                                            organised a visit to the Purana Qila on 16th and 17th april
                                                            2014 to learn about the recent excavation digs from rajput,
                                                            the gupta, the Kushanas and the sultanate periods. This was
                                                            attended by students and teachers from 16 Delhi schools. Mr.
                                                            avasthi, asi showed many fascinating objects including a red
                                                            sandstone pillar base found among Kushan period layers, an
                                                            impression of a wall of Kushanas which the archaeologists call
                                                            ‘ghost wall’,  a piece of large jar from Mughal period, remains
                                                            of Chinese porcelain, glazed ware, beads of semi-precious
                                                            stones etc.
